Society judges single mums says Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet – who is currently pregnant with her third child – says that society judges single mums.

Speaking to Time Out magazine, Kate, 38, said single mums ‘come in for a hard time’.

“Society is incredibly judgmental,” she said. “I know this. My life has taken me down several different paths I never expected it to take me down. Not in a million years. And I know the true meaning of getting by, by the skin of my teeth. I do.”

Kate, who had her daughter Mia, now 12, with her first husband Jim Threapleton and son Joe, nine, with second, Sam Mendes, said you just have to ‘carry on’.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got money, whether you’re famous or not. You have to carry on. And you can, because you have to,” Contact Music reports.

Kate married her third partner, Ned Rocknroll, in December last year, and announced in June that they were expecting their first child together.

Do you agree with Kate? DOES society judge lone parents?
